Sherri Quarrie Announces Candidacy for Town Commission in Melbourne Beach, Florida
Melbourne Beach, FL – August 18, 2025 – After a brief hiatus, former Town Commissioner Sherri Quarrie is excited to announce her candidacy for election to the Melbourne Beach Town Commission. A proud resident of this community for over 35 years, Sherri has deep roots in the area where she raised her family and continues to contribute as a devoted matriarch.
With experience that spans decades, Sherri’s passion for serving the residents of the Town of Melbourne Beach shines through in her commitment to integrity and effective governance. As an inactive real estate broker who currently works in retail part-time, Sherri brings a unique perspective on local issues and a dedication to improving our town.
Sherri served on the Town’s Planning and Zoning Board for 14 years. Her dedication continued by serving on the Town Commission for eight more years. She made significant contributions that benefited our community:
Implemented a paid parking initiative that currently generates over $157,000.00 a year. This major initiative, paid by non-residents, pays for park related costs, street signage and one police officer’s salary.
After recognizing the need in 2017, Quarrie’s vision for regulation of Short Term Rentals started the creation our Town’s Vacation Rental Ordinance, which was adopted May, 2020.
Initiated and passed Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV) usage within the Town limits which included regulations ensuring safety and appropriate parking spaces. This initiative resulted in an inter-local agreement with Indialantic and $10,000 in yearly revenue to the Town budget.
Championed a common sense ordinance allowing residents the flexibility to place their recreational vehicles on their private property as long as it was behind the front line of the house. Commissioner Quarrie stated, “If it fits, it sits”.
"I am running again because I believe that experience and integrity matter," says Sherri Quarrie. “After living in this Town for almost four decades, I am dedicated to protect the amazing quality of life we have here. I believe my dedication to the Town and my history of leadership will help protect the small town values that we cherish."
Residents speak highly of Sherri's readiness and fairness during meetings. “She is always prepared,” remarked one neighbor. “Thoughtful and unbiased.” Another added enthusiastically, "I’m so excited she’s running again! Great commissioner."
As Sherri embarks on this campaign journey, she looks forward to engaging with residents about their priorities while advocating for responsible policies that enhance quality of life in the Town of Melbourne Beach.
