Our small town is worried. We know Bruce Larson has hired a high-powered political consultant out of Tallahassee. This consultant, Brett Doster, is connected to political action committees in Tallahassee that are funded by outside LLCs and corporations. For the details, CLICK HERE.
Neighbors have told us that they are getting random phone calls from the rapidly expanding Palm Bay area asking for support to elect Bruce Larson in the Town of Melbourne Beach…
It has also been revealed by an insider from the Brevard Republican Executive Committee, aka BREC, that recently ousted chairman Rick Lacey from Rockledge, and Melbourne Beach resident Wayne Twiddy, are running a phone bank maligning candidate Dr. Terry Cronin. Their phone bank team is calling our town residents… and our neighbors don’t like it! They say the callers are asking them to vote for Bruce Larson and continue on with spreading outlandish rumors and lies about Terry Cronin.
Sources verified that Bruce Larson recently applied to join BREC. We also know that Rick Lacey was just fired as the chairman of BREC as a result of his corruption. (Watch the Florida Today news coverage)
What is going on here…? Why is this happening in our non‑partisan Melbourne Beach commission race? What promises or deals are being made with BREC and other outsiders in connection with our small town? Is this the “future growth” that Larson talks about in his flyers? Why is Bruce Larson involving outside groups in our hometown election?
Speaking of political flyers… why would any candidate in our small coastal town of just 1600 homes be spending so much money to hire a political consultant out of Tallahassee to individually mail his flyers through Orlando? Postage alone for each one of Larson’s fliers is $.78 each. To date, we have received five of his high-gloss, 2-sided, full-color, card-stock fliers to our personal addresses. A little math… .78 x 1600 = $1,248.00 x 5 fliers = $6,240.00 — THAT IS POSTAGE ALONE!!!! We can only estimate the actual postage, mail services fees, consultants design fees and printing costs, but hopefully those receipts will be reported on Bruce Larson’s next Campaign Finance Report, due October 31st.
We do not want big time politics brought into our small town. We want those of us who live here to be the ones involved in our small town elections for Town Commissioners. We can’t help but ask ourselves, WHY is Bruce Larson involving all these outsiders???
PLEASE BEWARE… You may receive a call from one of these outsiders. If you get one of these calls, remember you don’t have to talk to these people. We certainly don’t need outsiders to tell us what is best for our town.
