Vice Mayor Cronin Shares Heartwarming Story
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Heartwarming Documentary “Christmas in Vietnam” to Honor Local Doctor Terrence Cronin Sr. and His Band of Brothers at Special Screening Event.
(Melbourne, FL – December 5, 2025) – Premiere Theaters Oaks 10 will host a powerful one-night-only special screening engagement of the acclaimed feature-length documentary Christmas in Vietnam on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 PM, paying tribute to Melbourne’s own Dr. Terrence Cronin Sr. and the courageous men of the MILPHAP medical team he served with during the Vietnam War.
"It’s a happy story. It’s a Christmas story. But it’s also a war story," Dr. Cronin Sr. warns as the film does show some unflinching horrors of war. More than just a war story, "Christmas in Vietnam" is an uplifting testament to compassion and humanity in the darkest of times. In 1967, amid the chaos of conflict, Capt. Terry Cronin, MD, and his Air Force MILPHAP team orchestrated an unforgettable Christmas for a Vietnamese orphanage. Working against overwhelming odds, they arranged for hundreds of toys to be flown in from the United States and even convinced a gruff sergeant to don the red suit and become Santa Claus for children who had never experienced such joy.
Restored Super 8mm footage shot on location in Vietnam transports viewers back to that miraculous day, while the film’s second act follows the veteran's emotional journey decades later as they reunite with the brothers-in-arms who made that Christmas possible.
“This screening is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to my father and every veteran who served with him,” said Terence Cronin Jr., producer and narrator of the film. “Their act of kindness 58 years ago still inspires people today. We want this night to be about honoring them—and giving back to our community.”
In the spirit of giving that defines the film, attendees are kindly asked to bring non-perishable food items or monetary donations for the Melbourne Beach Food Drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The drive is proudly sponsored by Truth & Accuracy Matter and Florida Fields to Forks Farm.
