Magic in Melbourne Beach
At Truth and Accuracy Matter, we believe in recognizing the hard work and dedication of those who make our community special. This holiday season, we want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Public Works Department in the Town of Melbourne Beach for their exceptional efforts in decorating Ryckman Park for our annual Christmas Light-Up Night celebration.
The transformation of Ryckman Park into a winter wonderland is nothing short of spectacular. Hundreds of residents and visitors attended this festive event. Families were greeted by a delightful children’s walk-through area featuring pint-size whimsical characters that spark joy and imagination. Children played on the nearby playground with anticipation of the big moment!
Vice Mayor Terry Cronin emceed the festivities surrounding the main event. The centerpiece of the night was an impressive 30-foot “tree” in the center of the park that dazzled the crowd when the sky-high twinkling lights came on as soon as the switch was flipped by one lucky young resident of the Town! This amazing tree was created and set-up by the Public Works team days in advance. The tree is surrounded by sparkling toy soldiers, chilly snowmen, happy reindeer and a sleigh filled with gifts that capture the spirit of giving.
As if straight out of a storybook, a sleigh awaited Santa's arrival, creating perfect photo opportunities for families eager to capture memories. Adding to the enchantment was a bubble machine that produced fluffy fake snow—a super fun treat for our Florida children to experience the delight of playing in the snow!
The atmosphere was further enhanced by overhead lights strung throughout the trees in the park, casting a warm glow that invited everyone to share the holiday cheer with their neighbors. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our Public Works team, what could have been just another event became an unforgettable experience filled with magic and joy. The park will remain lit-up throughout the holiday season for everyone to enjoy.
We encourage everyone to take a moment to appreciate the hard work, creativity and dedication that brought our community together during this special time of year. Thank you, Melbourne Beach Public Works Department! Your commitment has truly made this holiday season brighter for all!
All four Commissioners were at the event. Thank you Vice Mayor Cronin, Commissioner Butler, Commissioner Reed and Commissioner Quarrie for your participation and support of our community!
