JLAC Approves Audit Request

The State of Florida’s Joint Legislative Auditing Committee (JLAC) just approved Representative Monique Miller’s request for an OPERATIONAL AUDIT for the Town of Melbourne Beach. Representative Miller presented her plea to the Committee. She sited the accusations of mismanagement, lawsuits against the Town, and contention between residents by appealing to the committee to direct the independent audit by the Auditor General’s office.

There were no other speakers, either for or against the request and no questions were asked by the committee members. The committee moved to adopt the request and it was approved 10-0.
