Today is the Day!

Truth and Accuracy Matter has received the agenda packet for today’s JLAC meeting in Tallahassee. All information about the budget allegations made by Mayor Dennington has been gathered and reviewed by the Joint Legislative Auditing Committee (JLAC) staff. The attached agenda packet shows the detailed summary. Please take a few minutes to read it (see the highlighted points for a quicker read). The Town of Melbourne Beach is Agenda Item 3 and begins on page 62. Tune in to the live coverage TODAY at 3:30 PM to watch the committee meeting. CLICK HERE TO WATCH

The detailed analysis reveals, “The most recent financial audit report submitted to the Auditor General for the 2023-24 fiscal year was timely filed and included no findings.” Not surprisingly, the committee staff expressed more concern about the actions of Mayor Dennington. The JLAC staff even provided specific details relating to FUNOE LLC, indicating the only TWO members, Alison A. Dennington and Elvin L. Dennington Jr., involved in the current lawsuits against the Town of Melbourne Beach. See the footnotes on page 4 of the agenda packet.

In her letter dated August 5, 2025, Representative Monique Miller requested the, “Auditor General to conduct an operational audit of the City (sic) of Melbourne Beach.” THIS OPERATIONAL AUDIT is what will be considered by JLAC to direct the Auditor General for further investigation.

NEWS ALERT!! Johnny-come-lately… the attached petition was received this morning by the JLAC staff. Check out the names on the petition! It’s another last-ditch effort to try to influence all of the Legislators who serve on the Joint Legislative Auditing Committee (JLAC). Makes you scratch your head and wonder… WHY NOW? Representative Miller’s letter clearly states that both sides on the issue would accept the findings. CLICK HERE
