Mayor Dennington’s 2 cents

Mayor Alison Dennington has launched a last ditch effort to support her dream team of a supermajority by attacking candidate Sherri Quarrie with her usual basketful of lies and accusations. Mayor Dennington took to Facebook in a tirade against candidate Quarrie as it certainly appears that Quarrie is gaining ground with Election Day less than a week away.

Dennington spewed her typical conspiracy theory against the processes of our Town’s governance. She claimed that the former Town Manager mismanaged the budget, particularly concerning the stormwater fund. Dennington says, “the stormwater contracts were mismanaged, handouts were given, overpayments were made,” and according to her, it ALL happened during the tenure of the former Town Manager, who Dennington gleefully declares is “FINALLY gone.”

Dennington has ZERO proof of any of these accusations. She is just using her usual tactics to suck the people in so they believe her lies… all while she flips her hair around in multiple configurations, turns the tears on and off as needed and tosses her law degree from the state of Arkansas around like it was pizza dough about to go into the oven. There is nothing that lasts too long in the oven before it gets burned.

Mayor Dennington is desperate to retain her position on the Town Commission. She knows that candidates like Sherri Quarrie and Terry Cronin will seal the deal for a single term, or less, of her nonsense. Quarrie and Cronin are common sense candidates who know how to look at the facts and not get caught up in personal vendettas. Dennington’s tenacity may seem like an attribute to some, but not when the motives are taken into consideration. The motive is EGO over all others. No one and nothing else matters… the ONLY thing that matters to her is, SHE is right. It is demonstrated at every meeting… she talks incessantly, she speaks over everyone, she has the answer to everything but the solution to nothing. She thinks that candidate Quarrie is her enemy, but the reality is, her ego is the enemy. This self-centered belief of her own importance is the epitome of arrogance.

The Mayor’s worthless two cents

Walters and Larson have openly aligned with Mayor Dennington. They support her lawsuits against the Town. With the two of them on her side, along with current Commissioner Tim Reed, they will have the supermajority they dream of, first and foremost, to settle the lawsuits that Mayor Dennington has against the Town with a monetary payout from the taxpayers to the mayor; and secondly to run this town as they see fit. They will collectively continue to harass and bully the town staff. All indications are right in front of our eyes.

In September 2024 when Sherri Quarrie was Vice Mayor, she presented an agenda item to the Commission asking for consideration to conduct an independent investigation concerning the Toxic Work Environment within Town Hall as indicated in a resignation letter by an employee. Mayor Dennington was opposed to the action. See attached minutes for her comments. However, Sherri Quarrie prevailed. The item passed and the process began. The survey results were acquired by Truth and Accuracy Matter through a public records request.

Bruce Larson parrots Mayor Dennington’s personal attorney, Nathan Meloon, when he stated during the Candidate Forum, “It’s everyone’s right to sue.” Larson went on to say, “In this case, we haven’t had a significant financial impact.” Wait…. what??? Wouldn’t Bruce Larson consider $163,000+ costs to the Town in legal fees DUE TO Mayor Dennington’s LAWSUITS to be a significant financial impact? Bruce Larson has made it clear that he is in favor of accepting Dennington’s settlement offer if he gets elected. Would the additional $56, 350 be a significant enough financial impact at that point Mr. Larson?

Bruce Larson, who read almost EVERY one of his responses at the Candidate Forum from a script , clearly doesn’t think on his own two feet. His multiple, glossy, full-color flyers that were sent to every resident by name (not an EDDM) costs A LOT of money. Even the verbiage on the flyers doesn’t sound like the way we talk in the Town of Melbourne Beach. All indicators point to somewhere else and/or someone else… could it be Tallahassee?
